Saran wrap French tips with a Bundle Monster stamp

Do you know about my nail art contest?
Every participant gets a prize! :)

This week's theme in the RedditLaqueristas' 52 week challenge is Saran Wrap! Eight down... fourty-four to go!

I decided to go with saran wrap French tips. I really like the mix of pitch black and metallic pink! I actually first bought this polish because I was dying for a chrome-like colour to use for stamping. I had spotted China Glaze's Khrome collection, but it's been discontinued for a while and the bottles go for way too much money on ebay.

So when I saw this Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear at the drugstore for just a few dollars, I knew it was perfect for stamping. It's thick and opaque, plus it doesn't dry too quickly, giving me a chance to pull off a decent stamping job.

And here is the mani before I added the stamp.

Saran wrap is so simple and gives such amazing results! I really like this technique and I can't wait to try different colour combos.

Swatch: New York Colour's Starry Silver Glitter over Essie Blanc, Julep Blake, Zoya Bevin, and Essence Black is Black.

Check out my nail art contest...
Every participant gets a prize!

Hi there wonderful people! Sorry I haven't been around... I've been sick this week. :( Actually yesterday I stayed at home when I really should have gone to work. But what can I do... I'm dizzy and stuffy and sneezy. Guh.

Here are some swatches! I wanted to show you the glitter I used on my tips for my "Winter princess nails"... Because nothing makes me happier than glitter, except really cheap glitter! Ha. My mom found this at Wal-Mart for a dollar! Yay! I really like the mix of chunky pink and blue hex glitter and fine holographic silver dust. This is New York Colour - Starry Silver Glitter (#105).

And here's a blurry one to show you the holo effect.

And here are the colours I used under them: Essie - Blanc, Julep - Blake, Zoya - Bevin, and Essence - Black is Black. The yellow polish came in my introductory Julep box, which contained 3 polishes and cost only a penny... Didn't I just say I love a great deal? See here for more details about this awesome offer.

The black (Essence - Black is Black) and green (Zoya - Bevin) took only two coats, but the yellow (Julep - Blake) and white (Essie - Blanc) took all of 4 coats to get opaque! Guh, I hate that. It creates such a thick sandwich of polish on your nails. I'd rather have an easily opaque colours as a base.

The polishes:

  • Glitter: NYC / New York Colour - Starry Silver Glitter #105 (only a dollar at Wal-Mart so it won't break the bank!)
  • Black: Essence - Black is Black
  • Green: Zoya - Bevin
  • Yellow: Julep - Blake (see how you can get this polish and two more for just a penny right here)
  • White: Essie - Blanc
