Take Two, Day 8: Polka dots

Today's theme in the Take Two challenge is "Polka dots". Pretty straightforward, isn't it? Well there you have it.

I even managed to capture a little bit of the elusive gold shimmer on Zoya - Charla, which is my base colour on this mani. Check out the bottom of the post for a close-up shot.

If you look closely you'll see there's a bit of that gold goodness showing through the dots! It isn't much, but Charla is reputed as one of those polishes that are just impossible to photograph.

The polishes I used:

• Base coat: Essie - All in One Base
• Greenish blue base: Zoya - Charla
• Pink dots: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Pink Satin (This is an awesome one-coater which works well for stamping, dotting and nail art because it doesn't dry too quickly and is sufficiently opaque to fully cover up any base colour.)
• Top coat: Essie - No Chips Ahead

The technique:

I applied a base coat, followed by two coats of Charla. Then I used a dotting tool to apply the dots in Pink Satin. Added a top coat and I was done!
