Only 6 more days to enter my nail art contest!
The goal: to design a socially engaged manicure that supports
a cause and raises awareness about an issue that you care about.
The 50 first participants get a prize!
So I'm a bit behind on the Take Two challenge, but I shall conquer!
Speaking of conquering, here's a game that's all about conquest and war: chess! Chess being a white vs. black type of thing, I thought it would be perfect for this theme, which is "Black and white nails".
Please do notice that there is no king in this court... just a queen. :)
Don't forget to check out the other challengers:
The polishes I used:
- Base coat: Essie - All In One Base
- White: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - White On
- Black: Essense - Black is Black
- Top coat: Sèche Vite
=O You are Canadian! That's awesome, just like these nails! Monochromes always look so good. Your title reminds me of Rocky and Bullwinkle haha xD
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing!! I've got to get my stuff together to get my entry in for your contest, I hope to work on it tomorrow if all goes according to plan!
ReplyDeleteMoana, this manicure is awesome, I mean, it's so creative! and your free hand design is so wonderful, you've done a great work!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much Natalia! I got these little striper brushes, they're not super easy to work with but I'm getting the hang of it. The strands kind of fan out so I have to dip the whole brush in paint and kind smoosh them together into a striper shape... meanwhile the polish gets all gloopy and leaves little nail polish strands everywhere (kind of like in the "sugar spun" technique, which would be great if I was trying to do sugar spun nails, except... I'm not). Anyway, I've just been forcing myself to try more and more freehand designs and in just a month I've gotten so much better! If I can do it, seriously, anyone can. :P
DeleteNow this is just COOL. Black and white always looks so chic together. I really want to try this out!
ReplyDeleteHi Lindsay! Thanks a lot for dropping by, and please post the link to your black and white nails if you try it out! :)
