Swatch: Essie - Snake, Rattle and Roll

I was at the drugstore the other day and saw these new magnetics by Essie. They come in 6 colours but I only got one - at 14.99$ a piece I don't imagine I'll buy the whole collection!

I do really like the pattern in this magnet, it's kind of fishnet-like or snakeskin-like. Have a look.

I really like this shade and the magnetic pattern. However, the magnet isn't so strong, and my nails are very curved, so the pattern only shows in the middle of my nail. Bummer. Oh well, because of the shimmer, it just looks like the pattern is not visible because of the angle. Still, it bugs me.

Next time I'll try to squish my nails flat by pressing my fingertips on a hard surface like a table. Who knows, maybe it'll help!

On another note, I just started watermarking my blog pics! Yay! I'm quite happy with this, it feels like I'm stepping up my game. Thanks to all of you who read my blog, I'm really happy to share this nail polish adventure with all of you.

  1. yeah!
I had a really similar experience with some magnetic polish I recently bought.
I didn't like it only being on the centre (or one line) on my finger, so pretty much took it off straight away.

    1. Yeah it's like a line, exactly. Like just a center band. Annoying :(

  3. First off love the color! I have yet to try out a magnetic nail polish but this makes me re-think that... and OMG by Essie, runs to the store! Also, I nominated you for the Liebster Award: http://anonailmous.blogspot.com/2012/12/liebster-award.html.

  4. How were you able to get such a clear design. I tried four or five application methods and the design was always very faint.

    1. My advice to you is to apply a first coat of Snake, Rattle and Roll and let it dry without applying the magnet. Then, when that first coat is dry, apply a second coat and THEN, hover the magnet over it. Be certain to do one finger at a time. You should use the magnet immediately after you've applied the polish, within 5 seconds maximum I would say.

Let me know if that trick works for you!

    2. Thanks you for the advice. I'm going to set aside a good chunk of time tonight so I don't feel rushed with it. I really love the way your nails look here, hopefully I can get the same effect. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again
